Day 2; Kathmandu to Shivapuri village via Kakani (40km approx.)
Wow! Our great ride starts at 9:00 am, to the Kakani riding through the
walled Nagarjun Forest Reserve. The road is all black -topped till the
Kakani hill top which is about 2075m. From here we bike on to the
Shivapuri Forest Reserve. It lies in a transition zone between subtropical
and temperate zone. The vegetation consists of a variety of natural forest
types including pine, oak, rhododendron etc., depending on altitude and
aspect. Recorded wildlife in the park includes mammalian species such as
Himalayan Black bear, leopard, Jungle cat, and rhesus monkey. The Park
is also home to 177 species of birds, including 9 threatened species, 102
species of butterflies with a number of rare and endangered species, and
129 species of mushroom. We spend night at the Shivapuri Village Resort.
Day 3; Shivapuri Village to Karma Hotel (22km approx.)
This trail follows the forest jeep track circling the Shivapuri Reserve and
provides for good overall views. Ride down hill to visit the Sleeping Vishnu
temple, a prominent Hindu temple where a statue of Lord Vishnu in a
sleeping posture is believed to have discovered by a farmer while plowing
his field. After lunch, we will again climb the hill to reach at Karma hotel,
located serenely in the forest.
Day 4; Karma Hotel to Chisopani (22km approx.)
We conquer our ride of uphill and down hill on the jeep track and thus
reach at Chisapani. We spend the night at the Chisapani Guest House in
this village (2,180m), which is not particularly pretty but the view is an awe-
inspiring.
Day 5; Chisopani to Nagarkot (26km)
We venture to ride some excellent single track and travel jeep trails in
undulating terrain and on into the hill-station of Nagarkot (1950m). From a
point a little way north of the village there is an opportunity to catch 360°
view. We spend the night at the Nagarkot Hotel Galaxy view point, a perfect
spot to observe sun rise and sun set view.
Day 6; Nagarkot day rest
After 9 am breakfast, we will ride to the Nagarkot hill station; tower
(2100m), 3 km towards north on a tarmac steep up road. Return back hotel
and relax. The guides will be ready to go with you on an optional ride or
walk that is available on this so-called rest day. Alternatively, just take a
well-deserved rest at this very comfortable and serene spot. An evening
awaited cultural musical show will entertain you at the hotel.
Day 7: Nagarkot to Dhulikhel via Nala (30km)
After having breakfast at 9:00 am we go for 1 hour sight-seeing to the view
tower and after that we continue our trip to Dhulikhel riding through Nala
and Banepa to the Dhulikhel Resort. We have lunch at great Dhulikhel
Resort and go for sight-seeing to Dhulikhel temple.
Dinner/ Night stay at the Dhulikhel Resort.
Day 8; Dhulikhel to Lakuri Bhanjyang via Namobuddha (40km)
We have breakfast at 8:00 am and start climbing our trip to Namobuddha,
where we can find the big Lord Buddha monastery. Spend about 1 hour
capturing the view and we start descending to Panauti. After a refreshing
lunch at Panauti Lodge, our trip again begins with 2 and half hour climb to
the Lakuri Bhanjyang(pass), a perfect place for an awe-inspiring
panoramic view of the mountains and view of the three cities (Kathmandu,
Bhaktapur and Lalitpur) can be captured from the altitude of 1994m.
Dinner/ Night stay at the Tented Camp Resort.
Day 9; Lakuri Bhanjyang to Godawari (28km)
First part of today’s riding is 9 kilometers technical, sharp turn but fun-filled
downhill. What goes down must come up we have to ride uphill which is
not so steep but demands stamina but not to worry we can have our own
pace. We have dinner and stay overnight at Godawari village Resort.
Day 10; Godawari to Kathmandu via Epic race route (35km approx.)
Today our last riding day, we ride through Epic Mountain bike race route
