Pokalde Peak Climbing is one of the most challenging and strenuous trekking trails of Nepal. This Pokalde Peak Climbing is very popular among the climbers and mountaineers who love to have challenges all the while relishing in the mesmerizing views of the Himalayas. Amazing journey along the route, magnificent cultural riches and splendid alpine biome all sum up to lead you to the lap of the Himalayas with towering peaks dominating the skies.

Your trek begins from a thrilling flight to Lukla, which is considered the world's second dangerous airport. You will then trek towards Namche Bazaar passing through small villages, rhododendron forests, and rivers. Namche Bazaar is a trade center of the Khumbu Region and also the gateway to the Himalayas. You will get to experience the lifestyle, culture, and tradition of the inhabiting Sherpa communities. You will then trek towards Tengboche where you will see the most important and the oldest monastery of the entire region, Tengboche Monastery. Following an ascending trail, you trek all the way up to the Kala Patthar. Here, you will get to behold panoramic views of mighty Mt. Everest (8,848 m) and other surrounding mountains. Further, you will trek towards Pokalde Base Camp and climb the summit. Pokalde Peak is located at the south of the Kongma La Pass (5,535 m), an isolated route that will lead you to the Chhukung valley. You will see a small hanging glacier on the northern side of the peak. Upon reaching the summit, you can enjoy the spectacular views of the surroundings and the mountains. You will get to see the snow-capped peak like Mt Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Nuptse (7,861 m), Ama Dablam, (6,812 m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m) and many others in the Everest massif. The trail will be difficult at times and you will be required to use trekking equipment to reach the summit. After spending some time on the summit, you will trek back to Namche Bazaar, and take a short thrilling flight back to the Kathmandu. You need to have a prior trekking experience to go on this trek, and you also have to be physically fit. The best time to go on this trek is from March to May and September to November.

Important Notice for domestic flight to and from Lukla
Due to avoid air traffic congestion at Kathmandu Airport and for smooth flights operation, the Lukla flights shall be operated from Ramechhap (Manthali) Airport effective from Autumn (October 1, to November 30, 2025) and Spring (April 1, to May 31, 2025).

In this matter, you need 1 buffer day to manage all transfer to and from Manthali Airport (OR we adjust the program on Day 2 that you will do the guided sightseeing tour in Kathmandu and later in the afternoon, transfer to Mulkot). We would like to suggest you for driving to Mulkot which is 3 hours driving away from Kathmandu and spend a night there at a hotel, then next morning an hour of driving brings you at Manthali Airport to catch the flights to Lukla. On return, you can fly to Manthali Airport and same day drive back to Kathmandu.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu 1338m

You will arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, and one of our team delegates will pick you up at the airport. You can rest or take a stroll around the area. Overnight stay at a 4-star hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Full day guided Sightseeing Tour in Kathmandu valley
Today is a sightseeing day for you in Kathmandu. You will visit the world famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites namely Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, and Swayambhunath. All these sites are prominent religious and cultural symbols in their respective religion. Pashupatinath is a major pilgrimage site for Hindus whereas Swayambhunath and Boudhanath are known to be of great importance to the Buddhists. After observing these sites around the valley, you will return to the hotel. Overnight stay at a 4-star hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 3: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla 2840m/45 minutes and trek to Phakding 2610m/3 hours
You will take a short scenic flight to Lukla. The flight will be around 40 minutes long and present you scenic views of hills and snow-capped mountains. Due to weather issues at Lukla, the flight may be subject to delay or even cancellation. We will have alternatives in order, however, the costs for these services will not be covered in the initial payment and you have to bear these charges. After reaching Lukla, you will trek to Phakding. You will trek through the main trail in Churi Kharka and further, follow the east bank of the Dudh Koshi River. You will reach Phakding. Overnight stay at a lodge in Phakding. 

Day 4: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar 3440m/6 hours
After having breakfast, you will trek towards Namche Bazaar by ascending along the west bank of the Dudh Koshi River and reach the small village of Toktok. You will see a beautiful view of Mt. Thamserku (6,608 m) from here and reach Bengkar. From Bengkar, you will cross a suspension bridge and reach Jorsalle. Further, you will go through the dense forest of pine and finally reach Namche Bazaar. Overnight stay at a lodge in Namche Bazaar.

Day 5: Acclimatization Day; hike to Everest View Hotel and surrounding hills
Today is specially sanctioned as acclimatization day and you spend the day adjusting your bodies to the Himalayan atmosphere. Namche Bazaar is one of the main trade centers of the Everest region.  You will get to see the lifestyle, culture, and tradition of the locals living here. You can hike to the Everest View Hotel where you will get to witness superb views of   Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), Mt. Nuptse (7,861 m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812 m), and numerous other mountains. Overnight stay at a lodge in Namche Bazaar.

Day 6: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche 3860m/5 hours
You will begin trekking by ascending towards Syangboche and further, trek to Khumjung Village, which is surrounded by Mt. Kongde Ri (6,187 m) and Mt. Thamserku (6,608 m). You will descend towards Dudh Koshi River and pass through Sherpa villages. The trail will lead you to the dense fir and pine forest, and ascent towards Tengboche. Upon reaching Tengboche, you will visit one of the oldest monasteries of this region, Tengboche Monastery. Overnight stay at a lodge in Tengboche.

Day 7: Trek from Tengboche to Pheriche 4240m/5 hours
You will descend down to Dingboche and cross Imja River. You will then ascend to Pangboche along with the Mani stones. After reaching Pangboche, you will take a short visit to the ancient monastery. Further, you will ascend to reach Pheriche. During the ascent from Pangboche, you will first pass Orsho and head along Imja River. Overnight stay at a lodge in Pheriche. 

Day 8: Trek from Pheriche to Lobuche 4910m/5 hours
You will begin trekking towards Lobuche with the spectacular views of snow-covered mountains. You will ascend on the tough curved path through rocky glacier moraine, and after reaching the top, you will find several stone caves, built in the memories of the Sherpas who died while climbing the Mt. Everest (8,848 m). You will climb along the glacier and reach Lobuche. Overnight stay at a lodge in Lobuche.

Day 9: Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep 5140m/3 hours and afternoon explore to Everest BC 5365m/5 hours
You will first trek to Gorakshep where you will take a break. The walk is mostly uphill and you will cross Lobuche pass (5110m) to arrive at Gorakshep. You will then climb to Everest Base Camp (5,364 m), which will take around four and a half hours. After enjoying the amazing views, you will get back to Gorakshep. The trail will be covered with the rocks and glaciers. You will also see small frozen lakes around the Everest Base Camp. The views of Khumbu icefall and glacier are magnificent from the Everest Base Camp. Overnight stay at a lodge in Gorakshep.

Day 10: Early morning hike to Kalapatthar 5550m/2 hours and trek to Lobuche 4910m/3 hours
Today, you will hike towards the Kala Patthar. The trail will be rocky and covered with the snow. Upon reaching the Kala Patthar, you will get to witness outstanding 360-degree views of Mt. Everest (8,848 m) and other surrounding mountains. After spending some time on the Kala Patthar, you will trek back to the Everest Base Camp, and further, moves towards Lobuche. Overnight stay at a lodge in Lobuche.

Day 11: Trek from Lobuche to Pokalde Base Camp 4400m/7 hours via Kongma-La Pass 5535m
You will ascend towards the base camp of Pokalde Peak. The trail will be steep, and you will go through the little rocky section on the way. Upon reaching the Base Camp, you will rest and further, learn the basic skills of ice-climbing. You will see massive mountains all around you that make you more excited and happy about the coming trek. Overnight stay at a tented camp in Base Camp.

Day 12: Trek from Pokalde Base Camp to High Camp 5000m/5 hours
You will trek to Kongma La Pass (5535m) from where you will get superb views of the wide basin dotted with frozen lakes and Pokalde Peak (5,806 m). On the further trail, you will also get to witness stunning views of mountains like Mt. Nuptse (7,861 m), Mt. Lhotse (8,414 m), and Mt. Makalu (8,463 m) among many others. You will ascend all the way up to the High Camp. Overnight stay at a tented camp in High Camp.

Day 13: Summit to Pokalde Peak 5806m and back to Chhukung 4730m/8 hours
Today is the trek begins early in the morning as you begin the climb to the summit of Pokalde Peak (5,806 m). You will walk through a difficult rock trail and reach a narrow summit. Upon reaching the summit, you will get to witness breath-taking views of the world's highest mountains like Mt. Makalu (8,481 m), Mt. Pumori (7,165 m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6,856 m), and several other mountains. After spending some time on the summit, you will trek back to Chhukung through Kongma La Pass. Overnight stay at a lodge in Chhukung. 

Day 14: Trek from Chhukhung to Tengboche 3860m/6 hours
You will descend towards Tengboche today after having breakfast. The trail will be short and easy. You will cross a small river and reach Tengboche. You will also get to interact with the locals who are generally from ethnic Sherpa community. Descending along the Imja River, you will first reach Pheriche and continue ahead to reach Pangboche followed by Tengboche. Overnight stay at a lodge in Tengboche.

Day 15: Trek from Tengboche to Monjo 2835m/6 hours
You will begin trekking by ascending a suspension bridge and ascend further on the opposite side of the valley to reach Namche Bazaar. You will then descend down to another suspension bridge and cross Dudh Koshi River and finally reach Monjo. You will also pass Sherpa villages like Jorsalle and Larja Dobahn before reaching Monjo. Overnight stay at a lodge in Monjo.

Day 16: Trek from Monjo to Lukla 2840m/5 hours 
You will trek along the east bank of Dudh Koshi River and descend down to the Lukla. You will go through a few small villages and reach Lukla. After reaching Lukla, you will relax and explore the surrounding area. Today is also a good opportunity to reflect back on your achievements. Overnight stay at a lodge in Lukla.

Day 17: Early morning fly from Lukla to Kathmandu 
After having the last breakfast with the views of the Himalayas, you will fly back to Kathmandu. The flight will be short and scenic with amazing views of snow-capped peaks and hills from the aircraft. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will be taken to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to rest and explore on your own. Overnight stay at a 4-star hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 18: Final Departure from Kathmandu 
After having breakfast, you will check out of the hotel. Be sure you do not leave any of your belongings. You will be then escorted to the Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight to your destination.
