In our programs for trekking peaks climbing in Nepal, we carefully select peaks that require little to no previous mountaineering experience. However, it is essential that participants are in excellent physical condition. Participants should have some working knowledge of being in the outdoors, and a general sense of what it’s like to be in mountainous terrain. Knowledge and use of an ice axe, crampons and ropes are not necessary though nevertheless can come in handy. Before the actual climb, all participants will go through climbing school. This is where our expert staff will train all participants in the basics of handling ropes, use of all participant climbing devices and discuss safety considerations. Our trained guides are registered with the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) and are on all of our Himalayan Mountaineering Expeditions. These climbing guides are locals who are intimately familiar with the mountains and routes they guide on. This is their home and they are eager to share this amazing and special place in the world.
