Langtang Ganja-La Pass Trekking, 15 Days

Days: 15 / Difficulty: 4 of 5 (Strenuous)
Min Group Size: 1 / Max Group Size: 4

A standout amongst the most prevalent and testing trekking goals, is the Langtang Ganja-La Pass Trekking, located northwest of Kathmandu valley in the Langtang region. Langtang Ganja-La Pass Trek offers snow secured high passes, great perspectives of mountains, old religious communities, lovely Langtang and Helambu valleys, and natural life. Ganjala Pass Trek takes you from the busy trails of Langtang region to the quaint trails of Helambu via the frozen Ganja-La Pass (5130m) and allows you to be amid pristine nature unspoiled with human interference.

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, a full day sightseeing is on the cards prior to the trek. The trek starts from Syabrubensi and passes several Tamang villages before reaching the famous Tamang village in the Langtang valley. Followed by a cultural exploration in the Langtang village, the trail moves on through the alpine vegetation to reach the ancient monastery of Kyanjin Gompa. Kyanjin Gompa is the most sacred monastery for the Tamangs in the Langtang region. The trail then reaches the compelling Ganja-La Pass (5130m), the highest altitude of the trek, which is frozen throughout the year. The trail then goes through the Sherpa villages of Helambu and finishes at Melamchi Pul in the Helambu region. The Tamang village of Langtang, spectacular views of Langtang range, the dense forest of rhododendron and pine, numerous Buddhist monasteries, local cheese factories, the diverse flora, and fauna are the highlights of this trek.  An opportunity to see the red panda makes this trip equally enticing.
