Days: 19 / Difficulty: 4 of 5 (Strenuous)
Min Group Size: 1 / Max Group Size: 8

This spectacular Everest the hard way trek will more than satisfy the ambitious trekkers’ intent on crossing high passes without the commitment to any technical climbing. The trek offers an enduring experience of natural beauty, geological magnificence and profound cross-cultural discovery. The Sherpa residents of Khumbu, the great valley below Mount Everest, believe that all things - mountains, plants and animals are sacred. In addition, you can also visit the Buddhist Monasteries, explore hidden Yeti legends, meet the friendly Sherpa people and find rare Himalayan flora and fauna. This really is breathtaking mountain scenery and is well worth of the traditional Sherpa’s villages, magnificent view of the Himalayas, rhododendron forests, terraced fields, and summer pastures for yak grazing—before moving into the stark landscape of glaciers and ice. On the way, we get a chance to visit monasteries in the heart of Sherpa country, where you can observe the monks daily prayers. The Renjo La & Chola Pass is a unique opportunity to explore the heart of Sherpa community. We will pass through Namche Bazaar and Khumjung village, where we get to interact with the local Sherpa community, and finally ascend to the stunning Gokyo Valley, which offers us the magnificent views of glacial lakes laid on the high altitude mountain terrain of the great peaks Cho Oyu and Gyanchungkang standing on the borders of Tibet. In Cho La pass trek we ascend Gokyo Ri, one of the best vantage points for Mount Everest, Makalu and Lhotse. Further in the trek we will cross into the Khumbu Valley through the trail laid on the high altitude Cho La Pass, climbing to the summit of Kalapathar, which offers a spellbinding view of the great Everest. Chukhung Ri with Khongma la pass-Everest Base Camp & Kala Pattar - Gokyo Lakes & Gokyo Ri -Cho La & Renjo La - & many more! A challenging, 'best of the Everest region' journey through some of the most spectacular landscapes in the Himalaya with guides who spend all their time in the Himalaya; our trek is a window into traditional Sherpa villages and 'gompas' (monasteries), their mountain Buddhist culture and their sacred peaks and valley. From Katmandu you will fly to Lukla and follow the classic Everest trail through Namche Bazaar, Tyangboche and Dingboche to the Kongma La pass surrounded by dramatic views of Ama Dablam, Makalu and the Lhotse, Nuptse face. From the Kongma La pass, you will descend to the Khumbu glacier and then ascend Kala Patar for breathtaking close-up views of Mount Everest and a sea of other Himalayan giants. You traverse the glaciated Cho La pass to Gokyo, where we explore the valley and climb Gokyo Ri to enjoy more excellent mountain views including another angle of Everest, and Cho Oyu on the Tibetan border to the north then bear west to scramble across the Renjo La, dramatically back-dropped by the Everest range, to enter the Bhote Kosi valley, where you walk along grazing pastures and a trading route used by yak trains from Tibet to Thame. It is a short day from Thame to Namche Bazaar, where you will re-trace your earlier steps to Lukla and then fly back to Kathmandu.
