Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu 1338m
The representative of Swiss Family Treks and Expedition picks you up at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, and escorts you to hotel. Overnight at a 4-star hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Full Day Guided Sightseeing Tour in Kathmandu Valley by private van
We drive on our private vehicle with our local tour guide for a tour of famous tourist sites in the capital such as Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, and Swayambhunath Stupa. Lunch and dinner are not included in the package; however, our guide can recommend you the best cafes and restaurants during the tour. Overnight at a 4-star hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 3: Drive on Private Jeep to Besisahar and then biking trip to Syange 1100m, Distance: 20 Km, Biking: 3-4 hours
Kicking off our day, we drive to Besisahar on a private jeep via Prithvi Highway. Upon reach Besisahar, we assemble our bikes and head towards Syange. Riding along Marsayangdi River, we ride through lush Himalayan forests to reach Syange. Overnight at a lodge in Syange.
Day 4: Biking trip from Syange to Dharapani 1860m, Distance 18 Km, Biking: 3-4 hours
Continuing our ride along the jeep trail, we head towards Dharapani. We ride along beautiful Marsyangdi River and pass majestic waterfalls and dense forests of rhododendron and pine. On our uphill ride to the Himalayas, we will come across some small villages on our way to Dharapani. Overnight at a lodge in Dharapani.
Day 5: Biking trip from Dharapani to Chame 2670m, Distance: 18 Km, Biking: 4-5 hours
We will have a beautiful ride today, featuring magnificent landscape, small villages, lush forests, and pleasant weather. Riding along Dudh Khola, we cross few suspension bridges and pass several small villages of Timang, Thanchowk, and Koto before we reach Chame. Overnight at a lodge in Chame.
Day 6: Biking trip from Chame to Pisang 3200m, Distance: 19 Km, Biking: 4-5 hours
Riding uphill, we pass many dense forests of pine and juniper on our way to Manang. With the alluring view of Annapurna range, Lamjung Himal (6983m), we come across the beautiful village of Dhikurpokhari. We then ride for another couple of minutes till we reach the Gurung and Thakali town of Pisang. Overnight at a lodge in lower Pisang.
Day 7: Biking trip from Pisang to Manang 3540m, Distance: 19 Km, Biking: 4-5 hours
Mountain biking from Pisang to Manang is one of the best day of our entire trip as you are surrounded by pine forest, Himalayas, Stupa and temples, prayer flags, horses, yak and yetis (who knows perhaps we might spend more days to look after). Trails is nice and flat and smooth, you will have opportunity to see the real Himalayan life, culture and your adventure. You so much delighted to be there on your bike, happiness and pleasure will overcome through your smile entire day. Overnight at a lodge in Manang.
Day 8: Rest day in Manang
To acclimatize with the high altitude, we won’t ride uphill today. Instead, we explore the beautiful valley of Manang. We’ll visit Buddhist monasteries, mountaineering school, and hike up to Gangapurna Lake (3500m) to relish the superb panorama of the Himalayas. You can also try the famous Thakali meal typical to Manang. Overnight at a lodge in Manang.
Day 9: Biking trip from Manang to Yak Kharka 4050m, Distance: 10 Km, Biking: 3-4 hours
We will have a tough ride today. We may need to push our bikes uphill at Yak Kharka (4035m). Riding on a rocky trail, we will encounter yaks grazing in the field and local people riding horses on our way to Yak Kharka. Overnight at a lodge in Yak Kharka.
Day 10: Biking trip from Yak Kharka to Thorung-La Phedi 4450m, Distance: 7 Km, Biking: 2-3 hours
It’s shorter in distance but harder trails to go due to altitude and narrow rocky trails. We will ride through single trails and rock section with amazing views something that different then previous days. It will be hard to see greenery unless you are in monsoon time. You may need to get off from bike push and carry in some parts which are a part of your day. After crossing a little river then we push a climb that will take us to the Thorung-la Phedi. Phedi means the bottom part of the climb. Overnight at a lodge in Thorung La Phedi.
Day 11: Push and biking trip from Thorung-La Phedi to Muktinath 3800m via Thorung-La Pass 5416m, Distance: 23 Km, Walking: 4 hours, Biking: 3-4 hours
We will have an even tougher ride today than that of yesterday. We must push our bikes on a steep trail till we pass Thorung-La Pass (5416m), which is the highest mountain pass in Nepal. The panorama of the Himalayas looks stunning from the top of Thorung-La Pass. We then descend to the holy temple of Muktinath, the God of Salvation. Overnight at a lodge in Muktinath.
Day 12: Biking trip from Muktinath to Marpha 2670m via Lupra valley, Distance: 30 Km, Biking: 5-6 hours
An early morning visit to Muktinath Temple and you can also bathe under the 108 water sprouts, which is supposed to wash your sins away. After spending some time at the temple, we continue our bike ride and head towards Marpha. We will have easy rides ahead from today. Riding on rocky trails, we pass many mani walls and chhortens before we enter Lupra Valley. Chasing the stunning view of the Himalayas, we ride through Kali Gandaki Valley to reach the Apple Capital of Nepal, Marpha. Marpha is famous for its apple orchards and the apple by-products. Overnight at a lodge in Marpha.
Day 13: Biking trip from Marpha to Tatopani 1190m, Distance: 42 Km, Biking: 5-6 hours
Riding through Kali Gandaki Valley, we pass many authentic Nepali villages on our way to Tatopani. We will have a long ride today as we will be riding to different topographical settings than the ones on previous days. After reaching Tatopani, we enjoy the bath in natural hot spring to relieve our tensed muscles. Overnight at a lodge in Tatopani.
Day 14: Biking trip from Tatopani to Beni 1000m, Distance: 18Km, Biking: 3-4 hours then Drive to Pokhara
Today is the last day our ride. Descending further downhill, we ride along Kali Gandaki River and pass small villages till we reach Beni. After reaching Beni, we disassemble our bikes and drive off to Pokhara on a jeep. You can spend your evening food hunting in the Lakeside area as there is a wide range of options available. Overnight at a 5-star hotel in Pokhara.
Day 15: Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu for 25 minutes
Relishing the astonishing panorama of Annapurna range, Lamjung Himal, Manaslu range, Ganesh Himal range, and Langtang Himal, we fly back to the capital. After a 25-minute flight, we reach Kathmandu. Feel free to spend your leisure time as you please. Overnight at a 4-star hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 16: Final Departure from Kathmandu
After breakfast in hotel, we drop off at Tribhuvan International Airport for your final departure.
